Interactive Hardware Interfacing
Educational demos & lab tools

Instruments that run in the browser and talk to real hardware.

Open a page, plug in a board, click Connect. Nothing to install, any operating system. Every tool has a demo mode that runs with no hardware at all.

Hardware mode needs Chrome or Edge on a laptop or desktop (Web Serial). Demo mode works anywhere.

studentsTry it first

Open any tool and hit Try without hardware. Then plug in the board and compare.

Each demo is self-contained: firmware, wiring diagrams, a protocol doc, and the page.

Protocols are plain text. Drive any board from a serial terminal or ten lines of Python.

Wireless communication

Six demos on pairs (or small swarms) of Seeed XIAO ESP32-C3 boards talking over ESP-NOW. Each one isolates a single idea about how wireless data actually moves. Work through them in order, or jump in anywhere.

Electronics lab

Bench instruments reimagined as web pages, for labs where the measurement matters more than the equipment.

How these work

01 / one page per instrument

No build step, no framework

Each tool is a single HTML file in its own repository, served by GitHub Pages. Read the source in one sitting.

02 / plain-text protocols

The page isn't the only interface

Boards speak short line-based commands like SET 2.4 and MEAS, so a serial terminal or a Python script works just as well. Every repo documents its protocol in PROTOCOL.md.

03 / browser APIs, not drivers

Web Serial and WebUSB

Both are built into Chrome and Edge and ask permission before touching a port. No per-OS driver installs.

04 / firmware included

Everything to rebuild it

Each repo ships the microcontroller code (mostly CircuitPython) plus wiring diagrams in wiring/.
